Quick Fact:
The Trinity Test ushered the world into the Atomic Age, and its legacy reverberates to this day. A few weeks after the test, the United States dropped the Little Boy and Fat Man atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing hundreds of thousands of Japanese. Today, "downwinders" continue to raise concerns about the negative health effects fallout from the Trinity Test has caused them and their family members. The Trinity Site is open to tourists two times per year.
