National Museum of Nuclear Science & History

Kevin Clarno is a group leader in reactor physics and a distinguished R&D staff member at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He has been employed at ORNL since 2004, where he has served as the former director of the Consortium for Advanced Simulation of Light Water Reactors, lead of the Modernization Team of the SCALE nuclear analysis code suite, and Principal Investigator for major ORNL Laboratory-Directed Research and Development.

Clarno’s work focuses on nuclear fuel and reactor analysis, including creating models to forecast the longevity of nuclear reactors around the United States.
