Budhendra “Budhu” Bhaduri is a Corporate Research Fellow and group leader of the Geographic Information Science and Technology Group in the Computing and Computational Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He has worked at ORNL since 1998. Dr. Bhaduri researches global population dynamics, including studying population distribution and movement from rural areas to cities.

1992 Arrived in the United States to pursue a graduate degree in geology at Kent State.

1998 Began working at Oak Ridge and joined a group called the Geographic Information Science and Technology.

2009 Co-founded DOE’s Geospatial Science Steering Committee.

2009 Appointed to the Mapping Science Committee of the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council

2010 Received the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation/AgustaWestland Homeland Security Award

2011 Named an ORNL Corporate Fellow.
