Milton Parkhurst

Milton Parkhurst was born on April 28, 1908 in Fairland, Indiana. In 1932, he married Geneva Fay Williams. She was born on July 22, 1910, in Fairland as well. They had three children: Judith, James, and David.

Milton, or “Parky,” worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority in the 1930s. but he fell from a tower and broke his back. Milton then moved to Oak Ridge and worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation.

Milton’s family believed he worked at the Y-12 Plant, and stayed in Oak Ridge for about four years, in the mid to late 1940s. After leaving Oak Ridge, he moved to Ohio, where he worked at the Mound Laboratories, created for the Dayton Project.

Milton retired in the mid- 1970s. He and Geneva lived in Florida for a brief period of time, before returning to Ohio. Milton died on August 9, 1985, in Miamisburg, Ohio.
