Donald F. Swinehart

Donald Swinehart (1917-1993) was an American chemist.

Swinehart was born in Strasburg, Ohio. He received a B.S. from Capital University in Ohio and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Ohio State University. In 1944, Swinehart went to Los Alamos to work on the Manhattan Project. After the war, he went to teach at the University of Oregon. Having learned to use a mass spectrometer at Los Alamos, Swinhart build one for his lab at Oregon.

Donald Swinehart died on April 19, 1993 in Columbus, Ohio.
