Manuel Montes Alcalde (1921-2009) was a machinist at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project.

Alcalde was born in San Leandro, California. During the Manhattan Project, he worked as a machinist in Los Alamos. In 1946, he was enlisted into the U.S. Army. After the war, Alcalde worked for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for forty years. He died on April 7, 2009, in Folsom, California.
