Larry Weintraub (1921-2011) was a staff member at Los Alamos from 1946 until 1981.

Born in Jersey City, Weintraub graduated from the Cooper Union Institute of Technology in 1942 with a degree in chemical engineering. In 1944 he joined the Navy, where he served as an electrical technician on the USS Wyoming, a gunnery training ship in the Atlantic. In 1946, he became a staff member at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory. He worked in various sites at Los Alamos, and participated in several nuclear weapons tests. He retired from the laboratory after thirty-five years in 1981, but continued to work part time as a consultant.
