C. Ladd Prosser

C. Ladd Prosser was an American physiologist.

Prosser was born in 1907 in Avon, New York. He received a B.A. from the University of Rochester and a Ph.D. in zoology from Johns Hopkins University. He went on to teach at Clark University before being offered a position at the University of Illinois at Urbana.

In 1942, Prosser was hired to work on the Manhattan Project at the Chicago Met Lab. During his time there, Prosser worked in the Health Division studying the effects of radiation on humans and on animals.

After the war, Prosser returned to the University of Illinois, where he would help to found the Physiology Department.

Prosser died on February 3, 2002.
