Joseph M. DiJulio served as a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned as a radar operator on the Up An’ Atom, but did not fly in that plane during the August 1945 bombing missions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
E. P. Epler worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
James C. Bloam served in the 1st Ordnance Squadron.
Frederick J. Shon (1926-2000) worked on the Manhattan Project at Columbia University. Born in New York City in 1926, Shon was recruited to work on the Manhattan Project while pursuing his undergraduate degree at Columbia.
