Fred A. Hoey served as a 1st lieutenant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the navigator of the B-29 Full House, which served as a weather reconnaissance plane on the Hiroshima bombing mission, and the backup strike plane on Iwo Jima on the Nagasaki mission.
Walter A. Spradlin served as a staff sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the tail gunner regularly assigned to the B-29 Strange Cargo.
J. B. Jones worked for the J.A. Jones Construction Company.
Neil Bergen was a security guard at the Metallurgical Laboratory in Chicago during the Manhattan Project.
