As Secretary of War under Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry Truman, Henry L. Stimson (1867-1950) oversaw the entire Manhattan Project, and was responsible for appointing key project leaders and authorizing project construction sites across the US.
Arthur M. Ross was born in Revere, MA. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During the Manhattan Project, he served in the Special Engineer Detachment at Oak Ridge, TN at the X-10 Graphite Reactor.
Jane Wainwright served in the Women’s Army Corps at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project.
Melvin W. Juntti served in the 603rd Air Engineering Squadron.
