Lewis Truhlar served in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron.
Irene LaViolette was born in Manhattan in 1920. After she finished kindergarten, her family moved to Greece, where her grandparents lived, due to diminishing economic prospects in the United States.
James W. Davis served as a master sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the flight engineer on the B-29 Jabit III on the Hiroshima mission.
Colonel Franklin Matthias (1908 – 1993) was the officer-in-charge at the Hanford site. Matthias, a civil engineer, had been a close associate of General Groves since the beginning of the Manhattan Project, and was asked to review sites in the West.
