Harris Small was stationed in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, in the Special Engineer Department (SED). He served as a supervising civilian operator of shifts (the Calutron girls) at the Y-12 Electromagnetic Separation Plant.
C. D. W. Thornton worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
