Carl W. Rein served as a staff sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned first to Luke the Spook and later to Big Stink.
Irving Bubos was a research assistant in the Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) at the University of Chicago during the Manhattan Project.
Bert Tolbert joined the Manhattan Project in 1944 while completing his PhD in Chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley.
Kopanski worked at the 200 East Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
