John DoLong was a guard at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Melvin H. Bierman served as a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. Bierman was regularly assigned as a tail gunner in the Up An’ Atom, but did not fly in that plane in the August 1945 bombing missions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Dahleen worked in the United States Engineer District Office.
Davis worked for Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation.
