Shirley Nyden

Shirley Nyden was a laboratory technician in the Chemistry Division at the University of Chicago Met Lab between June and December of 1944. She worked in the Fluoride Chemistry Group and was later assigned to the Concentration-Isolation Group.

She was born in Oak Park, Illinois. Prior to working at the Met Lab, she studied at Wilson Junior College for two years, as well as, worked as a messenger for Butler Brothers and a sales clerk for Sears and Roebuck (Howes and Herzenberg, p. 139).
