Theodore J. Neubert was a research associate in the graphite research section at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Theodore J. Neubert was born in Rochester, New York. He graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.S. in chemical engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Brown University.
Prior to working at the Met Lab, Neubert worked for the United States Naval Research Lab as an architect. Following World War II, he worked at Argonne National Laboratory, the successor to the Met Lab. Between 1948 and 1982, he was Professor of Chemistry at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
At the age of seventy-six, Theodore J. Neubert died at the Thompson Nursing Home in Canandaigua on March 27, 1993.
