Jacob H. Wiens was a nuclear physicist who worked on the Manhattan Project from 1943 to 1945. He later worked at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where he interacted with Luis Alvarez.

He graduated from University of California at Berkeley. Both before and after serving on the Manhattan Project, he taught at the College of San Mateo, where he was appointed chairman of the physics faculty until retirement in 1973. He died in his home in Magalia, CA on January 10, 1986.
