Calvin B. Popwell served as a corporal in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned to the B-29 Big Stink, and he and his crew were later reassigned to Luke the Spook.
James F. “Jim” Nolan was a Captain in the US Army Medical Corps, the Chief Medical Officer for the Los Alamos site of the Manhattan Project, and a Special Consultant to Project Alberta on Tinian Island.
R. F. Perkins worked for the Union Carbide & Carbon Corporation.
Wayne Alexander Bowers was born on March 1, 1919 in Bilbao, Spain. His father traveled as a minister, so Bowers grew up in small towns throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
