Haskell Sheinberg arrived at Los Alamos in late 1944 as part of the Special Engineer Detachment. Sheinberg’s first assignment was to purify plutonium under the direction of Arthur Wahl, one of the co-discoverers of plutonium.
Louise Keaton worked as a Calutron girl at the Y-12 Plant at Oak Ridge, TN. Keaton was hired to work at Y-12 in 1944, when she was 18.
Glenn M. Taeger served in the 1027th Air Material Squadron.
Robert S. Mulliken (1896-1986) was an American physical chemist and winner of the 1966 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
