Thomas H. Olmstead worked as a part of Project Alberta, the team that transported and assembled the two atomic bombs preceeding the August 1945 bombing missions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Lee E. Caylor served as a corporal in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the regularly assigned assistant engineer for the Big Stink, and he and his crew were later reassigned to Luke the Spook.
Gioacchino Failla was an Italian-American physicist who served as a consultant at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Edgar Knauth served in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron.
