Julie Melton is an author and expert on civil society, development, and democratization. The daughter of Manhattan Project historian David Hawkins and Frances Hawkins, the founder of the nursery school at Los Alamos, she was a small child at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project.

Lillie May Porter was laboratory assistant in the Chemistry Division of the Chicago Met Lab during the Manhattan Project.
