The following are excerpts from “Converging Lines,” a genealogy and family history book researched and written by Norma McKinney, as well as oral recollections from her in 2011 and Charles’ remembrances to his grandson in 1990 for an eighth grade report.
Louis Turner was a metallurgical engineer who worked on the Manhattan Project. He first became involved with the Manhattan Project at the University of Chicago in 1943.
Jewel Corvin worked for the J.A. Jones Construction Company.
Daniel J. Howley served in the 1st Ordnance Squadron.
