Clementine (Self) Bernstein worked as a secretary for Stone and Webster in Oak Ridge on the Manhattan Project in 1943-44. In 1945 she transferred to the Union Carbide & Carbon Corporation. She met her future husband, Seymour Bernstein, at a dance on the tennis courts on V-J Day, 1945.
