Robert Schuch worked in the shop at the Metallurgical Laboratory in Chicago during the Manhattan Project.
John D. Kuharek served as a master sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was assigned to the Great Artiste as a flight engineer and flew in the mission to Hiroshima.
