Frederick J. Shon (1926-2000) worked on the Manhattan Project at Columbia University. Born in New York City in 1926, Shon was recruited to work on the Manhattan Project while pursuing his undergraduate degree at Columbia.
P. A. Dahlen worked at the 100-D Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
E. V. Martin worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
Irene LaViolette was born in Manhattan in 1920. After she finished kindergarten, her family moved to Greece, where her grandparents lived, due to diminishing economic prospects in the United States.
