John Wickersham was a military policeman and guard at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project. His duties included patrolling the perimeter of the site on horseback. He met and married his wife, Margaret (Hibner) Wickersham, at Los Alamos.

After the war, the Wickershams moved to Española. John worked for various construction companies and was a heavy equipment mechanic for the Zia Company at Los Alamos.

John Wickersham passed away on January 30, 2010 at the age of 85.
