Elsie Mae Freeman was born in Missouri in 1900. She graduated high school in Chicago. After graduating, Elsie was recruited to work in a lab at the University of Chicago in 1919.
John H. Martens was a research associate and chemist at the University of Chicago Met Lab and a member of the Special Engineer Detachment at Oak Ridge.
Attended the Ohio State University.
Butler worked at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project.
