Clyde Stanley Shields was born on December 28, 1918 in Wichita, Kansas. After graduating from Mitchell High School in South Dakota, in May of 1936, Shields enlisted in the South Dakota National Guard.
Frederick E. Brown served as a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the assistant engineer/scanner regularly assigned to the B-29 Some Punkins.
Andrew Rubis served in the First Ordnance Squadron.
R. S. Livingston worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
