Kermit K. Beahan served as a captain in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the bombardier on The Great Artiste and flew on the Hiroshima mission. The crew named the plane for him to honor his talent as bombardier. He served as the bombardier on Bockscar on the Nagasaki mission.
