George Boyd

George Boyd (1912-2004) was an American physicist. He was a research associate in the physical chemistry section at the Metallurgical Laboratory in Chicago during the Manhattan Project. Later, Boyd served as chief assistant director of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. 

In the 1960s, Boyd joined the faculty of the University of Georgia. He taught there until he retired at the age of 72.

Boyd died on August 4, 2004 in Tallahassee, FL.
