Warren Sharp was a chemical engineer employed at the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Sharp assisted with the gaseous diffusion process as a civilian after unsuccessfully trying to enlist in military service. Coincidentally, Sharp was childhood friends with Enola Gay pilot Col. Paul Tibbets as the two grew up in the same neighborhood in Illinois.
