Horace Mahorney was a chemical engineer at the Y-12 plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. From September 1943 to November 1945, Mahorney was an operator of the mass spectrometer with Dr. Oliver Loud. Mahorney had come from the University of California at Berkeley to help draft an operational guide for Building 2 at the Y-12 Plant.
