The K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Carl Helrich (1895-1971) was a civil engineer for the J.A. Construction Company from 1943 to 1945 and helped construct the Oak Ridge town site and plant area. He was a World War I veteran and was named a project manager for different aspects of Oak Ridge's construction. After the war, Helrich made Oak Ridge his home and stayed there for the remainder of his life.
