Arthur Julius Olofson joined the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos in June 1944. Olofson developed specialized tools for components of the atomic bomb under Dr. Robert A. Cornog, the Chief Engineer of Ordnance. In January 1945, Olofson was promoted to SH-18 Department Superintendent.
Prior to joning the Manhattan Project, Olofson was employed at the Berkeley Radiation Laboratory from August 1942 until May 1944.
