Jack Busby was a Military Policeman from Waco, Texas, and served at Oak Ridge, TN as part of the Manhattan Project. Busby travelled from Tennessee to Sandia Base, New Mexico, and also served on the Enewetak Atoll in the Pacific. He was responsible for guarding bomb parts being flown to and from various locations at Oak Ridge and Los Alamos and the island test sites. He stayed on as an MP after the war protecting nuclear weapons for the Atomic Energy Commission.

Jack Busby’s Timeline
1945 Dec Completes basic training at Fort Belvoir, Virginia
1946 Volunteers to be transferred to Tennessee, and is eventually sent to the Oak Ridge facility.
1947 Transferred to Sandia Base, New Mexico and protects atomic weapon materials near Los Alamos.
19471948 Sent to Enewetak Atoll in the Marshall Islands, and witnesses an atomic weapons test.
