National Museum of Nuclear Science & History

Kay Manley, Canadian-born, came to the United States in 1933 to study. She and her husband John Manley were at the Manhattan District in Chicago, when her husband was personally called by Leo Szilard and asked to move from the Met Lab to Los Alamos. She herself worked on calculations at Los Alamos, although she left after six months to focus on raising her children.
