Walter S. Marsh was born in Suffern, NY in July 1919 to Archibald & Amelia Marsh.
He married his wife Alice (Perry) Marsh in approx. 1939 at 20 years old.
Walter joined the U.S. Army in May 1944 & was a part of the Special Engineers Unit in Los Alamos. He is directly quoted in February 1946 Rockland County Leader (newspaper) saying, “I am still doing my part on the atomic bomb, and I do have hopes of getting out soon, but how soon no one knows yet.” He was honorably discharged in June 1946.
Walter went on to reside in Pompton Lakes, NJ with his wife (Alice Marsh) and 3 children (Richard, Eddie, & JoAnn). Walter was a dedicated member of the Pompton Lakes Fire Department, as was his son Richard. Walter Marsh passed away on August 29, 1992 in Pompton Lakes, NJ.
