William E. Caldes studied chemical engineering at Princeton University. In 1943, he was recruited to join the Manhattan Project, and became the 19th project member at Los Alamos.
Arnold E. Sleipnes served as a techical sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned to the B-29 Top Secret.
Herman S. Zahn, Jr. served as a captain in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the commander regularly assigned first to Luke the Spook and later to Big Stink.
