David Dow was a lawyer. He served as administrative assistant to J. Robert Oppenheimer. He was in charge of non-technical activities at Los Alamos and the Compagna Hill monitoring site, 20 miles from the Trinity test.
John Shacter was born in Austria and immigrated to the United States after Hitler came to power in Germany.
