Hirst worked at the 100-D Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
Ben Benjamin was a sergeant in the Special Engineer Detachment during the Manhattan Project. He had previously worked in industry making lenses and prisms, and was assigned to the Optics Group to help with photographing the Trinity Test.
Gordon worked in the United States Engineer District Office.
Eugene S. Grennan served as a 2nd lieutenant in the 509th Composite Group. He was the flight engineer on the Straight Flush during the Hiroshima mission.
