Gus Essig began working on the Manhattan Project in May, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio. Essig was selected to work in the highly classified initiator program and spent several months at Los Alamos learning how to design and construct initiators.
Joseph “Joe” A. Haaga (1919-1974) was a nuclear engineer who worked on the Manhattan Project. Born in 1919, Haaga graduated from Notre Dame in June 1940 with a B.
Jensen worked for Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation.
Frank Schultz worked for the Edenfield Electric Company.
