Robert Ingersoll Howes Sr. was an electrical engineer and one of the first 100 scientists recruited to Los Alamos to work on the Manhattan Project.
Dr. Karl Larsen worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology during the Manahattan Project. While there, he conducted heavy-water research by spectrum analysis, which was one of the prerequisites to the early atomic bombs.
James H. Payne served in the 1st Ordnance Squadron.
John L. Willoughby served as a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned to the B-29 Bockscar.
