David Dow was a lawyer. He served as administrative assistant to J. Robert Oppenheimer. He was in charge of non-technical activities at Los Alamos and the Compagna Hill monitoring site, 20 miles from the Trinity test.
John Miles was a physicist for the DuPont Company. During the Manhattan Project, he worked at the University of Chicago Met Lab and at Hanford.
