Dorothy worked at Oak Ridge during the Manhattan Project as a “calutron girl.” After her brother was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor, she was eager to join the war effort, and did so starting in 1944.
Dr. Dieter M. Gruen is an internationally known German-American chemist, inventor, and innovator. Born in Waldorf, Germany in 1922, Dr.
Ethel (Long) Glendenin was a library worker at Clinton Laboratories in Oak Ridge, TN during the Manhattan Project.
