Horace Mahorney was a chemical engineer at the Y-12 plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. From September 1943 to November 1945, Mahorney was an operator of the mass spectrometer with Dr.
Max Friedman was an American physicist. One of J. Robert Oppenheimer‘s bright young pupils at the University of California, Berkeley during the 1930s, Friedman’s career as a physicist was derailed by his leftist politics.
Sarah (Dowson) Prestwood worked as a nurse at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project. She was married to chemist Rene Prestwood.
