Thomas H. Olmstead worked as a part of Project Alberta, the team that transported and assembled the two atomic bombs preceeding the August 1945 bombing missions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Joseph M. DiJulio served as a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned as a radar operator on the Up An’ Atom, but did not fly in that plane during the August 1945 bombing missions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Jack L. Callan was a laborer at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
