Dorothy Lipps was a stenographer at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project. She was also the secretary of Norman Hilberry, who was Arthur Compton’s right-hand man at the Met Lab (Seaborg, Vol. 2, p. 93).
