Samuel Goudsmit (1902-1978) was a Dutch-American physicist. In May 1944, Goudsmit became scientific director of the Manhattan Project’s Alsos Mission, a top-secret operation responsible for gathering intelligence on Germany’s atomic program.
Richard B. Anselme served as a corporal in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the assistant engineer/scanner of the B-29 Full House, which served as a weather reconnaissance plane on the Hiroshima bombing mission, and the backup strike plane on Iwo Jima on the Nagasaki mission.
James H. Gilmet served in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron.
