Joseph H. Laird graduated from Harvard University in 1942 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. During the war, Laird became a member of the Special Engineer Detachment, where he served as an industrial inspector at Tennessee Eastman Corporation in Oak Ridge.
Jane Roberg was an American physicist. She earned a Ph.D. from Duke University and was working at the University of California when she was recruited to work on the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos.
Rupea worked at the 300 Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
