Martha Zukas was a nurse at Oak Ridge and Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project. One of nine children, Zukas grew up in Ellwood City, PA.
George Cowan joined the Manhattan Project in 1942 at the Met Lab as a chemist for Enrico Fermi’s group, and also worked for Columbia University.
Walker worked at the 100-D Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
