Waldemar Nielsen (1917-2005) worked on the postwar surveys of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. Nielsen was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Leonard W. Markley served as a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned to the B-29 Enola Gay.
